Privacy Policy

This policy explains how information is handled across eCourt Records, including document viewing, search, contact requests, and advertising.

Overview

eCourt Records is an independent public court-records service, not a government agency or court. This policy applies to its pages, search tools, embedded document viewers, and contact form.

Information received when you visit

Your browser sends network information, including an IP address and requested address, to retrieve pages and documents. The application temporarily counts contact requests by IP address to limit repeated submissions. Contact records include the time a message was received.

Search results are generated in your browser. We do not currently use visitor accounts.

Information you send us

Our contact form asks for your name, email address, topic, and message. We use these details to review questions, investigate corrections or technical problems, and respond to privacy requests. Messages are stored privately and are not posted with the court records.

Please do not include passwords, financial account details, or sensitive personal records. To identify a problem in a filing, provide its court, case number, reference, and page instead.

How we use information

We use information to deliver pages and documents, handle messages, investigate reported errors, and protect the service from repeated or abusive submissions. Information associated with advertising is used as described in the Google AdSense section below.

Hosting and security

Delivering website content requires the server to receive network requests, including IP addresses and the addresses of requested pages or files. The contact form uses validation and temporary request limits to help prevent abuse. Contact messages are stored outside the publicly accessible website files.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand visits and how people use the website. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, referring websites, browser and device details, and interactions. Page addresses may include search terms or selected filters. We do not intentionally send contact-form names, email addresses, or message contents to Google Analytics.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

eCourt Records may display advertisements through Google AdSense. In connection with ad serving, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to select ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.

Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to personalize ads using browsing activity across sites. Advertising providers may place and read cookies in your browser and use web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to collect information, deliver ads, and measure their performance.

You can opt out of Google's personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings and review choices offered by other participating advertising companies through AboutAds.info, linked below. Where required, consent will be requested before advertising cookies or similar technologies are used.

Cookie and advertising choices

Browser settings also allow you to remove or restrict cookies. Advertising choices may apply to a particular browser, device, or account and may need to be set again after cookies are cleared. Opting out of personalized advertising does not necessarily remove all advertising.

Sharing and disclosure

Contact information is used to handle the request you submit and address site reliability, accuracy, accessibility, and privacy concerns. The contact application does not forward messages to advertising networks, analytics services, or a mailing list.

We may need to disclose information to meet a legal obligation or address misuse of the service. Any future service providers and material changes to how information is shared will be reflected in this policy.

Public records and third-party services

Court documents can contain names and other personal information independently of anything a visitor submits. Contact us if you believe a record is mismatched, contains an overlooked redaction issue, or should no longer be available here. A request about eCourt Records's copy does not itself change the record held by the source court.

The privacy and advertising links on this page lead to independently operated services. Their privacy notices explain how they handle information when you use them.

Retention and privacy requests

Contact messages are kept outside the publicly served website files. They remain in the private inbox until removed by the site operator; deletion is not automatic. You can request deletion through the contact form. Some information may need to be retained where an applicable obligation requires it.

Form validation and submission limits help protect the service, but no website can guarantee complete security. Please limit your message to the information needed to explain your request.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, or other uses of personal information. Select “Privacy” on our contact form and describe your request. We may ask for information needed to verify the request without collecting unnecessary sensitive details.

eCourt Records does not currently interpret browser “Do Not Track” signals as a separate privacy instruction. Use the advertising choices described above to manage personalized advertising preferences.

The contact form is not intended for children to submit personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal details, contact us so the message can be reviewed and addressed. Please avoid repeating those details in the initial report.

Changes and questions

We update this policy as our services and information practices change and revise the effective date above. Any consent required for a new use must be obtained separately.
